DIMMU BORGIR guitarist Silenoz has confirmed that MAYHEM's Jan Axel Blomberg (a.k.a. Hellhammer) will play on the next DIMMU BORGIR CD as a session drummer (as first reported here on March 30 and subsequently confirmed by a management representative). In a posting on the band's official web site, Silenoz writes, "To get this rumor bullshit out of the way, we confirm that mercenary Hellhammer will be doing the drums for us as a session member on the next album. And that's that."

The Norwegian symphonic black metallers had previously utilized the services of NILE's Tony Laureano and Reno Kiilerich (PANZERCHRIST, EXMORTEM, VILE) as touring members following the departure of Nick Barker (ex-CRADLE OF FILTH) in early 2004.

DIMMU BORGIR recently announced plans to re-record their second album, "Stormblåst" (originally released in 1996 via Cacophonous Records) later in the year. No further information is currently available.

John 5 To Play With Rob Zombie At Ozzfest [Mar. 22nd, 2005|04:27 pm]
Metal In Color
John 5 is elated to announce that he will be playing guitar for Rob
Zombie on the Hot Topic Second stage at this year's Ozzfest. "I'm totally
estatic about having the opportunity to play with Rob on Ozzfest! He
has been one of my favorite artists for the longest time. I had the
opportunity to play with him a few weeks back, and never thought that I
would have the chance to share the stage with him playing the Zombie songs
we all know and love!" When asked what this meant for Loser, John's new
band, he said, "This will not affect Loser in any way. We are still
pressing forward with writing new material for our debut album."

From Rob Zombie-

"I haven't really officially said this yet but once again I will be
the road with Ozzfest. This time I've decided to headline the second
stage. Main is a drag, man. It's so uptight that it is almost a bore. I
can't wait to get away from the fucking seat and play to all the maniacs
that are always trapped up on the lawn. This should be insane.

There are some line up changes this time around. John 5 of ex-Marilyn
Manson fame will be handling guitar duties this time out. I'm totally
stoked about this because this guy is a fucking shredder. I played
Thunder Kiss 65 with him at The Arrowhead Pond Arena for a benefit a couple
weeks back and it never sounded so fucking good."

KITTIE: Discussing The Future With ARTEMIS RECORDS
KITTIE frontwoman Morgan Lander has posted the following message on the group's official web site:

"Hey, everyone! This is Morgan here. We wanted to keep all of you as up to date as possible with what has been going on with the band, as not much has been communicated to you all from the KITTIE camp for a few months now!

"Mercedes [Lander, drums] and I just got back from a hectic week at SXSW in Austin Texas, going to parties, seeing shows and most importantly supporting our boys (who we currently manage) in THINE EYES BLEED! The guys put on one hell of a set! Look out for tour dates with VEHEMANCE in your area now. We are also currently managing a band out of Toronto called UNSENSORED, check them out at Unsensored.ca!

"Mercedes and I are also proud to announce that we will be launching our own clothing line in the coming weeks. It is called Poisoned Black Clothing, and we are designing amazing shirts for cute boys and tough girls. Look out for more info on that soon!

"On the label front, I am sure you are all aware of our struggles with the label, but you all may or may not be aware that Mercedes and I have been discussing the future of KITTIE with Artemis Records for the past few months and whether or not they will be renewing KITTIE's option for the fourth album cycle.

"They are currently not willing to divulge their position and have until April 27th to do so. This of course makes things very difficult for us to make any immediate plans of any kind, and we are currently sitting around waiting for a response.

"Should Artemis decide to renew our option, expect the band to start work immediately on our fourth album...

"We will keep you posted..."

And if you preorder the album at one of the listening parties, you'll also get a seven-inch vinyl single featuring the first single, "The Hand That Feeds", and "Home", a nonalbum track. A full list of cities hosting the parties can be found on NIN.com.

In other news, Audiohead.net has posted a new article/interview with Trent Reznor regarding the recording of "With Teeth". Specific topics regarding the recording process of "With Teeth" are engaged. A sample quote from Reznor follows: "The idea of trying to work with tape is stupid to me, seems archaic and is not something I want to embrace. But I do think you can take the aesthetic of humanity and imperfection and spontenaity, and use it with computers. And that's — in kind of a rough, raw way — one of the things we've stumbled into with this record."

Check out the entire article here.
I heard about 4 songs from this new album and it sounds really awesome. I can't wait for it to come out.

To collect as much donation money as possible for the victims of the tsunami catastrophe, NAPALM DEATH, THE HAUNTED, HEAVEN SHALL BURN and Century Media Records have arranged an unconventional CD-single release. The first 10 copies of the strictly-limited-to-a-1,000 edition of the tsunami charity compilation single are being auctioned via eBay over the next 10 weeks, one each week, starting now. These hand-numbered collector items are originally signed by all participating bands (NAPALM DEATH, THE HAUNTED and HEAVEN SHALL BURN). The single features NAPALM DEATH's brand-new track "The Great And The Good" (featuring ex-DEAD KENNEDYS frontman Jello Biafra on guest vocals) from their upcoming album "The Code Is Red… Long Live The Code". THE HAUNTED picked the song "Smut King" from the digipack pressing of their acclaimed album "rEVOLVEr", and HEAVEN SHALL BURN added "Strassenkampf" (originally by DIE SKEPTIKER and feat. guitarist Patrick Schleitzer on vocals), the exclusive bonus-track of the Korean pressing of "Antigone". All three bands and Jello Biafra wrote liner notes for the single's booklet. All proceeds of the single will be donated to the Red Cross.
